Driving in Monroe
US-2, SR-522, and Old Owen Road.
First drives loop the quieter streets near Lake Tye and the Chain Lake neighborhoods, where a new driver can settle in. Then it is onto US-2 and SR-522, the main routes, with the timed lights, turn lanes, and steady volume that build lane changes and left-turn judgment.
The downtown Main Street area and the fairgrounds traffic add tighter, busier driving, and the highway ramps give merging practice. Closer to test day we drill the parking maneuvers the examiner scores and run a full test-style route.
