WMST teaches teen and adult drivers from Mountlake Terrace, with online or in-person classroom options at nearby Edmonds-area schools, drives on the 220th, Lake Ballinger, and I-5 roads, and DOL testing in Everett.
Mountlake Terrace is compact and well connected, with I-5 on one side, Lake Ballinger on the other, and the 220th and 236th arterials threading between. The new light rail station added more traffic and more pedestrians downtown, which is actually useful practice for a teen learning to scan and yield.
WMST serves Mountlake Terrace families through the classroom online or at nearby Edmonds-area schools, with behind-the-wheel drives that start close to home. Your teen keeps the same certified instructor the whole way.
WMST is a DOL-approved examiner, so training and the skills test run through one school. The program is a single package, from $549, with classroom, six drives, and observation.
New drivers start on the quiet residential streets around Lake Ballinger and the neighborhoods off 56th, where there is little pressure and room to learn. From there it is onto 220th and 236th, the main arterials, where timed lights and turn lanes start asking your teen to plan ahead.
The transit center and light rail area downtown have grown busier and more pedestrian-heavy, which is good practice for careful, alert driving. The I-5 on-ramps right in town give clean access to freeway merging when your teen is ready for it.
We close the program with parallel parking, back-in stalls, backing around a corner, and a full test-style route. The DOL testing itself is a short drive north to our Everett office.
Mountlake Terrace families take the classroom online or at a nearby Edmonds-area school, with local drives, and DOL testing at our Everett Express office. See dates and book on the registration page.
Every option below is the full DOL-approved program: 30 hours of classroom, 6 behind-the-wheel drives, and an hour of observation. The difference is how much testing and warm-up you want bundled in. See the full Teen Drivers Education breakdown.
