WMST teaches teen drivers education for Jackson Timberwolves in Mill Creek, with classroom sessions on the 136th Street campus and drives through the Town Center, Seattle Hill, and Bothell-Everett Highway traffic your teen already knows.
Mill Creek is a planned town, which works in a new driver's favor. The streets around Jackson are well marked and predictable, the Town Center has the roundabouts and crosswalks that teach patience, and the Bothell-Everett Highway is right there when it is time for real traffic.
WMST teaches the classroom at Jackson and pairs your teen with one certified instructor for the whole program. The drives and the classroom connect, so what your teen reads on Monday they practice behind the wheel that week.
WMST is a DOL-approved examiner, which means the people coaching your teen are the people who score the skills test. The full program is one package, from $549, with no surprise add-ons.
First drives stick to the quieter residential loops off Seattle Hill Road and around Silver Firs, where speeds are low and a new driver can settle in. The Mill Creek Town Center roundabouts come next, and they are a gift for teaching yield timing and watching for pedestrians.
The Bothell-Everett Highway is the main event. It has the turn lanes, the timed lights, and the steady volume your teen needs to practice lane changes and left turns against traffic. The 132nd and 164th connectors fill in the in-between driving, the merges and the multi-lane decisions.
Closer to test day we work the higher-speed stretches toward I-5 and 405, plus parallel parking and backing around a corner. By then the examiner's checklist is just a list of things your teen has already done a dozen times.
