Drivers Ed at Edmonds-Woodway High School

WMST runs teen drivers education for Edmonds-Woodway Warriors, with classroom sessions on the 212th Street campus and behind-the-wheel drives that work through the Westgate, Highway 99, and downtown Edmonds traffic.

For Edmonds-Woodway families

Edmonds has a little of everything a new driver needs to face.

Edmonds packs more variety into a small footprint than most towns. There is the calm residential grid up by the school, the busier 212th and 220th arterials, the Highway 99 commercial strip, and the steep, tight streets dropping toward the waterfront and the ferry. A driver who learns here learns to switch gears between all of it.

WMST teaches the classroom right at Edmonds-Woodway, and your teen keeps the same certified instructor through every behind-the-wheel drive. No swapping coaches, no starting over on the things that are still shaky.

Because WMST is a DOL-approved examiner, the same school that trains your teen also gives the skills test. The whole program lives in one package, from $549, classroom and drives and observation together.

From Westgate to the waterfront

The Edmonds roads we actually use.

Early drives stay near campus on the quiet streets around 76th and 212th, then move to Five Corners and Westgate, where the roundabout and the multi-way stops force a new driver to start reading other people instead of just following lines.

The hills toward the water are where Edmonds gets honest. Hill starts, controlled descents, and tight intersections near downtown all show up in the same drive, and they are exactly the skills that wobble under test pressure if you have not practiced them. We practice them.

Highway 99 handles the high-speed, high-volume side: lane changes with real gaps to judge, left turns across traffic, and timed signals. By the last drives your teen has done the SR-104 approach and the kind of merging the examiner expects to see done calmly.

Questions, answered

Edmonds-Woodway drivers ed questions.

Do we have to attend Edmonds-Woodway?

No. The session is open to eligible teens across the Edmonds area, including students doing the classroom online who want their drives to start near the school. Minimum age is 15 by the first class.

What roads will my teen drive?

Lessons build from the quiet streets near 212th out to Five Corners, Westgate, the waterfront hills, and Highway 99, so your teen sees calm, hilly, and busy driving before test day, not for the first time during the test.

How much does it cost?

Teen packages are $549 to $699. The Standard package is $625, currently $525 with the Spring Fever discount, and covers 30 classroom hours, 6 drives, and an hour of observation.

Who gives the license test?

WMST does. As a DOL-approved examiner, we run the knowledge and skills tests at our Everett Express office, so the school that taught your teen is the school that tests them.
