Edmonds drivers take the official DOL knowledge and skills tests at the WMST Everett Express office, a short drive up Highway 99 or I-5. Knowledge testing is walk-in at $25, with sessions at 9:30 am, 1 pm, and 4 pm on weekdays, and the skills test can be scheduled. WMST is a DOL-approved examiner.

Edmonds families can skip the licensing-office wait and take the knowledge test as a walk-in with WMST. Our Everett Express office is a straightforward drive north, and as a DOL-approved examiner, our result is official.

You can take both tests here: the walk-in knowledge test and the scheduled skills test. Edmonds-Woodway students who trained with WMST can test in the same car they learned in.

What to bring to test day.

  • Your instruction permit, plus ID documents the DOL needs.
  • A parent or guardian if you are under 18, to give permission.
  • Glasses or contacts if your permit requires them.
  • For the skills test, proof of insurance and a safe, legal car (or use the WMST training car).
  • The test fee. Knowledge is $25; skills is $50 scheduled or $65 walk-in.
