How walk-in works
No appointment needed. You arrive before one of the testing sessions, check in, and take the 40-question test on a computer. Because WMST is a DOL-approved examiner, your result is official, the same as testing at a DOL office. Walk-in is handy because you can go when you feel ready instead of waiting weeks for a slot.
Hours and location
Testing happens at the WMST Everett Express office, 4929 Evergreen Way, Everett, with knowledge sessions at 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Get there a little early to check in. Directions and details are on the Everett page.
What to bring
- Your identity documents (the DOL needs to confirm who you are).
- A parent or guardian if you are under 18, to give permission.
- The $25 test fee.
If you are getting your permit through WMST drivers ed, we may add your DOL waiver so you can get the permit without taking the knowledge test first. We explain that in the first class.
