The typical schedule
A common pattern is three classroom sessions a week across about five weeks, which covers the 30 required hours. The 6 behind-the-wheel drives are scheduled alongside, usually about one a week starting after the first few classes. Add it up and most students wrap the whole thing in roughly two months.
The 120-day window
You are not locked to two months. Washington gives you 120 days from your first class to finish the program, so there is room for a busy stretch or a vacation. You can also make up missed sessions, up to three over the course, so one sick day does not derail anything.
How soon driving starts
This is where schools differ a lot. Some overbook and your teen waits months to drive. WMST schedules so behind-the-wheel time starts early, typically about a week after the third class, so the classroom learning and the driving reinforce each other while it is fresh.
