Where the testing actually happens
There is no separate DOL motorcycle test to sit and no waiver to claim, because the DOL does not test riders directly. The state authorizes approved schools to give the knowledge and skills tests. WMST is one of those approved examiners, so the testing happens as part of your course, on the same range you train on, with the instructors who coached you.
The four tests
A full endorsement involves four tests: a permit knowledge test and a permit skills test, then an endorsement knowledge test and an endorsement skills test. WMST administers all four. You can take them inside a course, or, if you already ride, as walk-in or scheduled testing. Either way the result is official.
Why the course route is better anyway
This is not just convenient, it is the safer way to learn. You ride a provided bike on a closed range with no traffic, with instructors right there, and you build the core skills, friction zone control, braking, cornering, swerving, in a place where a mistake costs nothing. By the time you test, you have done the maneuvers many times.
Turning the result into an endorsement
After you pass, you receive a completion card and WMST submits your scores to the DOL. You then add the endorsement to your license at a DOL office or online through License Express, paying the endorsement fee. That is the last step.
