How to add your endorsement to your license.

Once you pass the WMST endorsement skills test, you add the endorsement yourself through DOL License eXpress. Here's exactly how the process works.

  • 01

Pass your endorsement skills test with WMST

Your test results are reported electronically to the Washington DOL within 3 business days of completion.

  • 02

    Apply through License eXpress

Go to secure.dol.wa.gov. You can apply online without creating an account, or log in to your License eXpress account to save your information. WMST reports your results to the DOL on its own, so once the 3 business days pass you're ready to apply.

  • 03

Add the endorsement and pay the fee

Choose to add a motorcycle endorsement, select 2-wheel or 3-wheel, and pay the DOL endorsement fee. The fee includes issuing your new driver license.

  • 04

Carry your temporary license until the card arrives

After you apply, print the temporary driver license from your License eXpress account. You must have it on you to ride legally until your updated license arrives by mail.

Good to know. Your endorsement test results are valid for 365 days, so add the endorsement within a year of finishing your course. Riders under 18 also need a parent or guardian to sign a consent form at a driver licensing office.
